Powers/Abilities: No powers, he's a normal human joe. That being said, Izzy is a master swordsman with decades of combat experience at sea. He's quick, ruthless, and extremely lethal. Due to injuries sustained past his canon point we know he also has a very high pain threshold.

First Mate -First mate to Edward Teach/Blackbeard
-Right hand man to the captain.
-Responsible for organizing the captain's schedule and meetings.
-Valet to the captain.
-Execution of any and all requests the captain makes, inclusive but not limited to murder in the first, second, or third.
-Maintaining positive image and forward action on the captain's behalf.
-Ensuring smooth day to day aboard the vessel.
-Supporting and mitigating mental state of the captain with careful discretion to ensure productive work environment and morale.

Boatswain
-Supervising maintenance of the vessel and it's supply stores.
-Daily inspection of conditions of sails and rigging.
-Generating and administering condition reports to the captain and assigning specific duties to crew in regards to carrying out maintenance requests.
-Supervising all on deck activities including weighing and dropping anchor, and the handling of sails.

Suppressions: Oh boy. Personal repression in terms of joy, friendship, letting loose to enjoy himself, physical and emotional availability, physical and emotional intimacy. He fails miserably at all of these. He also greatly represses the majority of his unyielding, bottomless love of Edward Teach at surface level, for whom he has done and would do absolutely anything. He describes it instead as loyalty above all else to his captain. It was confirmed by a writer (according to his wiki) that he is, actually, bonkers in love with the man.

Footnote 1: Most British and Anglo-American ships delegated unusual amounts of authority to the Quartermaster, who became almost the captain's equal. The general rule was that during times of battle the captain retained unlimited authority, but at all other times he and the rest of the crew were subject to the command of the Quartermaster. We know that Blackbeard has been in mental decline for some time by Izzy's standards and memories of the past, and it is generally agreed that he has taken on most, if not all, the responsibility of any ship and crew he is active on to keep the ship running as it should and maintain peace and order between Blackbeard and the staff. This is his largest source of frustrations aboard The Revenge. The second being his position on board is filled by Stede in terms of companionship and Lucius in terms of Quartermaster.

Quartermasters aboard pirate ships also had the added privilege of a larger cut of their plunder and choosing which bits he wanted first after the captain. If the pirates decided to keep a captured ship, the Quartermaster often took over that ship as captain until they decided to dispose of it.
